Calling all Pocket Watch Buffs

All in jest of course as at that time all of the major US PW makers (some european too) were doing similar cases with etched Silver dials just the similarity and the later takeover of Illinois struck a chord.

My example dates to 1927 regardless of the inscription and Hamilton purchased Illinois WC in 1928 though they still continued making Illinois watches and continued the brand name for some time after.

PS the only Hamilton WW's I am ever likely to buy are those that predate the Swiss takeover of Hamilton, and to that end is the one on the left a US made or a later Swiss?

I currently have three Hamiltons in my regular rotation, two Piping Rocks, both made in 1929, and a Donald made in 1947.

A few months ago I missed an auction end by 1 second but the item, a 23 jewel 6 position Asymmetric Hamilton from the 40's/ 50's got no bids, I waited for the relist but it never came up again.
The dial was shot but it was a working good order watch, been kicking myself ever since.
I contacted the seller via another auction but alas he had sold it off auction.

If any of you have one too many, or might guide to a good place to look for in the northern part of the Americas, I'd appreciate your guidance.

Hmmmmmm........How so?

The scroll work. I was stationed in San Angelo in the Army and there was a saddle maker in town. (I bought a belt from him.) Anyway, I've noticed this scroll motif on nicer saddles.
i guess i shouldn't say everything that pops in my head. Definitely a very attractive watch.

Mostly pocket watches (100 of them), but a few wrist watches and clocks. Our Railway Days display at our Heritage Park, Saturday (14th) and Sunday. Happy, after a busy Saturday, but tired, 😴 and looking forward to Sunday.

Michael Harrold’s book is excellent. It was originally made available to NAWCC members, and I’m certain it is long out of print. I don’t know if NAWCC in Columbia PA would still have inventory of it. But it might (obviously) be available from on line sources.

Years ago, a friend of mine (now deceased), was at an NAWCC convention. In the mart, he found an elderly chap who had a few watches for sale. Among the watches was Hamilton 992B serial number 2! Yes, the second one made! My friend resisted the urge to buy it (price?), so the next day, he was looking for the chap. …………….! He kicked his derrière until the day he died, I’m sure. At our train show booth over the week end, we had 13 992Bs. Nice watch @TexOmega . Only one repair number that I saw.

New arrival for me. Just liked the look of it. Watch comes with a beautiful watch stand for display. No names or markings but dial display is in Spanish.
