What can you tell me about this bracelet? It seems to be identical to the "Maglia Milanese" bracelets that Heuer used, in the early 1970s, for the 18 karat gold Carreras. And can you tell me the "basics" on the beautiful watch, as well?

And, of course, happy January 10th / El Primero day to everyone!!

On this day in 1969, the legendary Primero was introduced to the world. At the age of forty-five, El Primero continues to run strong!

In honor of the discovery, the birthday, and the longevity of the movement, models with the iconic three-color design congregate to celebrate

From oldest to youngest, these are

1969 A 386 – the jewel in the crown, the reference to have if you’re going to have just one

1971 A 3817 – a slightly different take in the iconic angled tonneau case. Many thanks to Abel for his expert rehabilitation of mine after many years in an overpolished mess of a case – something very substantial for me to celebrate this year.

2009 New Vintage 1969 – Thierry Nataf’s resurrection of the design – something he got oh so right. How could it have gone forty years without a reprise?

2011 Striking 10th – the watch that brought the manufacture back from the brink with panache!
