I would appreciate the help of the Zenith pros here on the forum.
I bought this 146 off the bay...
Seller wrote dial is original.
looking at the fonds I am not sure.
What do the pros mean?
Thanx for your help.
Best regards, Thomas Dial.jpg

Obvious redial, the ink is way too thick and uneven.

Edit: not a pro but I have been owning a few of these 146 and 156, this one is just a touch too obvious.

thanx guys. I appreciate your help! I was able to stop the transaction.
Sometimes my fingers are faster than my brain...
But making mistakes and sometimes feeling like an idiot is part of the fascination of this hobby...:)

So if someone has a nice (and correct) example of a 156 for me... I'll be there.
Best, Thomas

Well, it isn't for you, and it's not exactly the same model, but here's some shots of a dial for reference in your hunt.....

Thank you LouS - a very nice example.
What about those with straight indexes like this one (that is a bit like the one I first posted).
are they all wrong or are there examples like that?

There are examples with straight indices. Many come from a later series of production in which Zenith cheated a bit on the case design to save gold (thinner lugs principally).

And an older model with thicker lugs... and thicker patina.

Thank you guys - I appreciate you showing the different pieces.
Are there other dial combinations? (indices, scales, with or without star).
It would be great to have as many different models posted as possible.
Thanx and best regards, Thomas

I made a silly mistake, made an offer that is much lower than seller's price (but I thought it to be fair) with out case back and movement pics while I also had some doubts regarding the dial. Seller accepted the offer almost instantaneously. Seller kind enough to send me movement picture but yet to send the case back pic. The case is crispy but the dial a bit groggy and I am not sure about the applied gold zenith signature as that is one of the three groggiest parts (others being the edge of subdials). What do you guys think?

IMO The dial is original, though a bit groggy, as you say. Hands are original. Crown likely is as well.

The movement looks very clean and is an excellent well made caliber.
