·Cool looking, as was the one they released before, but I can’t figure out why Hodinkee, who loves vintage, would make a piece like this in 42mm.

·I have no idea why, but I just bought one without even reading the article. I happened to go on Hodinkee.com for the first time in weeks and I just fell in love with the design, so yeah, I clicked on the link, and now I own one! Hadn't bought a watch in a long time.
The only thing that I'm not sure about is the case size, I'll see if I click with it when I get it!

I would find a Certina DS PH200M if I had that sort of budget and wanted a Swiss made, new beater watch.

·I love my smaller watches, 25mm up to 35mm, but the way my eyesight is these days I'm noticing the larger dials are often easier to see in less than bright day light.
The exception would be one of my Pobedas that has large Gold numerals and markers along with gold hands on a black dial.
Don't care for the 42mm and up modern sizes but I can recognize their appeal.

·Well, I kinda like it, maybe better than my Timex Q which is almost too small for me. But I see watches like this as more of a purchase that will end up going to someone close to me. But who knows, maybe I'll keep one of the 2 that I bought. I'm fairly sure one of them is going to my daughter's boyfriend for Christmas, or his birthday in February.
I still haven't decided what to do with all the Swatch Micky SPOT mirror watches that I bought, with the original intent to either give one to each of my kids (now 21, 24, and 26 yr old) or to their kids when they get around to having a family.
As for the Glycine Sub "Coffee" GMT mentioned here, they have it in Pepsi color (aka Soda version) too and I already have the "SODA" 3-hand version shipping to me next week. I think I've decided not to take them up on the offer to cancel the original order and upgrade to the GMT version because, again, it's something that will end up as a gift to someone close to me (and the 3-hand will be a numbered edition 1-500). $399 for the Pepsi 3-hand is low enough that I won't be too attached to gift it later. That's why I was able to gift my Scurfa Diver One to my brother, that I bought for $300 to help raise money for Watchdaddy1 when he fell off the ladder.
I don't need to give Drop an extra $200 for a GMT version that I'm not planning to wear, when I'd rather wear my Tudor Black Bay Pepsi GMT. Plus I've already been waiting over half a year for the 3-hand to arrive, and don't want to extend it out again to June or July. It's a great deal for a beater good WR GMT though (like $589 I think?). It also has a 42 hr power reserve vs the 3-hand with a 38 hour power reserve.

You nailed but, it’s just spending money for the sake of spending money.
Had to stop myself from doing it the other day, then realised i had better watches I would wear less that need some wearing already. ( and I could get a great vintage for the money instead )

Back to Swatch.
It looks like nice, fun watch. Lume on hands only( and it is sucks). As far as quality, it looks well built (if you can say that about plastic watch). Really comfortable on the wrist, I mean super comfortable, because I don't feel any weight on the wrist at all. I've seen some comments on IG, people were saying previous versions were falling apart after few months. But, we shall see...
