That’s a tough one to answer and I’m not sure I have quite figured out what the issue is yet. Less to do with the quality of the watches and more to do with what’s going on in my head I suspect.

If you asked me to describe each of my Sinns there would be a very long list of positives and a pretty short list of negatives, but the reality in my case is that these two get significantly less wrist time than other (predominantly Omega) watches in my collection; the “UTC” being more or less in un-worn condition.

Maybe I should get round to writing a comparative review on the two some time.

Anyway, no need for concern. Sinn make excellent watches.

Then again maybe not. I think I’ll just add a silicone rubber strap and diver extension clasp to the 104.

Will make a nice alternative to the Citizen when I go swimming...well floating with directional intent.

Getting the strap onto the watch head was a bit of a battle. The clasp was a doddle by comparison.
Shortening to the correct length was also pretty straight forward



Job done! This feels like the combo I should have selected from day one.

For anyone interested in doing the same you will need:-
Folding clasp with divers extension 20mm 40400492 and the Siliconband 20mm 40400232 (that might be the number for just one half of the pair). The band is normally intended for models 356/556/856 but it fits the 104.

Now I wonder if the 20mm micro-adjusting clasp from the Omega Seamaster Ploprof would fit?

Your "what to do with one of my Sinn's" problem neatly solved, and looks good on rubber. What about the UTC? A bund?

It’s actually the deployant clasp and associated strap not a regular strap with buckle, which would probably be the correct silicone rubber strap for a 104. There was also a butterfly clasp option with micro-extension, but I preferred the look of the longer deployant clasp.

Picked the stuff up at the dealer in Hamburg direct, so no, not via the website.

Strap type

Normally a 3 piece strap (can be 2) with a leather piece under the watch. Google bund strap.

It's short for Bundeswehr. See below photo which is just the 1st one I found on a website. I believe they were created to protect pilots in the event of a cockpit fire with the wide strip of leather under the watch protecting the wrist from getting burned by heat conducting through the metal watch. There will be experts here on OF that have a more detailed or correct understanding though.
