Jean-Claude Biver is taking over responsibilities at both Zenith and Tag Heuer. I can't really decide if this is good/bad for Zenith. What do you think?

The Biver used to run Hublot, didn't he? I hope he's not going to be like another Thierry Nataf.

He also had a big hand in Omega and Blancpain's revivals

Exactly why I can't decide if it's good or bad. :D

You know, this is an oversight position which does not replace the existing CEOs. He's replacing a guy named Francesco Trapani. Surely you are aware of Mr Trapani's decisive role in the Zenith and TAGHeuer product lines in the last few years? Neither am I.

Both Zenith and TAGHeuer have decent market identities, and I doubt there will be significant product change as a result of this. Marketing change? Perhaps.

Sometimes the one begets the other... a 007 edition El Primero is going to require a massive helium escape valve.

indeed, although Zenith is already advanced in that line - the associations behind the existing Monster d'Aeronef special editions honoring a grab-bag of random aeronautical organizations and events (Red Baron? Wright Brothers?) are already pretty close to being lighter then air

This might be a blessing.

Well played, by the way.

Well, let's not be too hard on the Biver. I think what he did with Blancpain was brilliant... “Since 1735 there has never been a quartz Blancpain watch. And there never will be”... genius. Let's hope he still has some tension in the old mainspring. What do the Omegans think about his influence on their brand?

Oooo, was that an homage to Leave it to Biver?

Gee Dennis, that's swell that you noticed... but didn't you do the same thing?

The Biver used to run Hublot, didn't he?...
