Posted this on another board but there is lots of A386 love here too. I feel like I stole this one. Paid the 'buy it now' price which was way too low and crossed my fingers that it was as good as it looked on the pictures. It's far better than I expected. I don't know how the ratings scales work but I'd give this at least a very good. Unpolished case, only a few scratches and a couple of very minor dings. Minor blemish on the crystal at 2 o'clock. Slight mark on the hour subdial hand on the base of it. Great patina.
Only negative is the replacement crown. It's not signed so it's probably not even a Zenith part. It seems to stick out too far as well. Relatively minor I think for such a nice piece. I don't have anything to open the caseback up so I can't peak but I was sent pictures and it was a 3019 inside.

Sorry, just camera phone pics

I love it. It's not coming off except to change the strap.

Don't feel guilty. If you hadn't hit the BIN button, someone else would have done it. At the end of the day, the seller got what he wanted and so did you.

Patience will present you with the correct crown. Just keep looking - it can be a long game but in the meantime, wear the watch and enjoy it.

Oh, I don't feel that guilty. If it was at current market, I likely wouldn't have bought it.

Anyone have a part number for the crown? I see crowns with the right Nato star and circle on ebay but I have no idea what the back of the crown should look like or any of the dimensions.

The part number won't help - you can't get the old double Z crowns. It will be a matter of keeping an eye out on eBay.

I saw this one on ebay. But I have no idea whether this actually is the right crown. What does the back look like on an A386 crown.

I'm sure the 3019 stem is one piece for the A386. The split stem was for the diver.

The thing to check is the tap size which varies between the Defy and the EP.

Sorry, when you say the stem is one piece, do you mean the rod that screws into the crown is one piece, or that the stem and crown are attached and come as one piece (not separable)?

Conventional set up. Stem is one piece and the crown screws onto the stem - as opposed to a split stem as in your first photo. It may be that the female stem in that photo screws into the crown but I don't know for sure.

Nice watch especially if price was low as you said. You will probably be able to find the right crown in due time. Judging on the logo, I am going to say no2. looks more correct as the circle extends further out to circumference of the crown which looks more similar to what mine is. But like Stewart, I can't be sure.

NIce one, haga. These pics are better than the ones you posted before. This is a nice example of a worn but unpolished case, and also of the profile of what I believe to be the original crystal.

The BIN price was 2700 euros which is about USD$3650. But then I got extorted for another $500 by Customs so I'm into it for $4,150.
Maybe I'll gamble on that crown. See if I can get lucky twice!

The crystal is kind of domed. The hands look like they are bent when you look at it from the side.

My crown is gone. Which one of you guys stole it? Lol.

Around here, you have to be quick on the B.I.N. button. Ya snooze, ya looze! (Oh, and it wasn't me)
