Military Zenith

Is this watch correct?

According to my research caliber 126 was made in 1950's

Looks correct. Movement serial number dates it to 1947-1948. I don't love the relumed hands, but otherwise a sharp piece.

Rossler gives the 126 family as 1947 to 1956, so the number puts the movement at the earlier end of this range.

Like MMMD, I don't like the hands. The style is like those on my 126-6 (a 3,9xx,xxx) from 1951 but they have either been re-filled from the front or painted

They also look out of place on that dial and I can't see Zenith sending out a watch looking like that.

This most recently landed in my lap; no military markings on the back, but certainly looks the part.
