To me there seems to be the groove on the lugs- so it should be ok for a Mark 2 (and the serial seems ok for a Mark 2 as well)

the first picture is a screenshot of the hodinkee-watch that seems to be a Mark II (the groove can be seen) Screenshot 2016-09-14 20.35.33.png

this one is a Mark I (picture copied from the web - but don't remember from where) - lugs without a groove
Screenshot 2016-09-14 20.35.59.png

I believe that most Mark II have the "E" from El Primero written very close to the seconds counter register (on the left)
this is the hodinkee-watch

the next one is mine (also a Mark II with 707 serial)
Screenshot 2016-09-14 20.43.33.png

and this one is a Mark 1 (picture from somehere in the web) with the E much further away from the seconds counter.

But this is just my believe. I am happy to learn if others can correct.

I agree with your observations @Bienne2998 ;)
Also, front watches I saw, ZENITH does not have the same font (more bold on Mark I) and shape of letters in El primero are not the same also.
However, I am a bit concerned by the fact that Hodinkee did not mention the replacement tachymeter... :(

In fact they do mention it....

Oups!
Sorry, my mistake, did not look at this picture!
Well, that's a very good point for Hodinkee then and I was surprised they did not mention that as they are usually very honest in their listings details

ahhh, thanks guys. this clearly shows me the difference between the I & II. the III (which I own) is a little different as well. So each of the production series (I, II, III) have slightly different cases? I originally thought II & III have the same case.

II & III have same case (both with the groove) but different caseback: II is still smooth like I where III has the zenith pointed star on the caseback.

ok, if i would've taken my mark III out of hiding (just did) and looked at the hodinkee photos more closely, i would've saved you all from these stupid questions. apologies :)

Oh no..... due to your question we had once again the chance to speak about one of the greatest watches ever made.
