I cannot find references to this little piece anywhere else. It appears to be a basic hand-wind Zenith, but the case seems 1960's but the hands and dial seem more like 1970's. Nice, though.
Looking at the movement serial number, 061***** would put it at 1965. 067***** would put it at about 1968/1969, but I know from mine that they are a bugger to see the whole serial number unless you take off the balance cock.
So would this be a Japanese market item then? I am just curious where it fit in the range. It seems something between a Sporto and a low-grade Captain. I know Zenith produced many no-name models, I just haven't seen one like this before.
I don;'t think we know that the items in that Japanese catalog are for the Japanese market exclusively, or even that Zenith regarded the Japanese market as separate from others. There are plenty of models in it that are found worldwide. http://nakahiro.parfait.ne.jp/catarog1970/moji/zenith1970.html
In that particular catalog, there are no Sportos, so perhaps this is the substitute. That assumes that Zenith had a well-planned marketing strategy without duplication in market segments - and that's not certain either.
